La Terapia Dialéctica Conductual (DBT, por sus siglas en inglés) ofrece a los clientes un conjunto de habilidades para manejar emociones intensas y reducir los conflictos en sus relaciones interpersonales. Esta terapia se enfoca en cuatro áreas clave: atención plena, tolerancia al malestar, regulación emocional y eficacia interpersonal. DBT es un tratamiento basado en evidencia que incluye terapia individual, terapia grupal y un equipo de consulta entre terapeutas. La terapia ecuestre brinda beneficios físicos, sociales y espirituales a personas con discapacidades. En el caso de quienes presentan discapacidades cognitivas y/o conductuales, la interacción con el caballo y el instructor puede mejorar significativamente las habilidades de comunicación. El Departamento de Salud Mental ofrece un programa continuo de terapia ecuestre dirigido a adolescentes y adultos jóvenes.
