La capacitación en habilidades de intervención aplicada al suicidio (ASIST) es un taller presencial de dos días para personas de desean sentirse cómodas, seguras y competentes en la prevención del suicidio. Más de un millón de personas han participado en este taller altamente interactivo, práctico y orientado a la práctica. Los Servicios de Salud Mental han implementado el modelo ASIST durante más de 20 años. Esta capacitación se ofrece mensualmente sin costo para nuestra comunidad. Únase a nosotros y aprenda más sobre cómo hacer de nuestra comunidad un lugar más seguro contra el sucidio.

Expresate Mayo - May 29, 2024: Primeros Auxilios para la Salud Mental para - Berenice Flynt, Supervisora Servicios para Niños y Adolescentes Brawley

Primeros Auxilios para la Salud Mental para Jóvenes es una capacitación interactiva que enseña a los participantes mayores de 18 años cómo ayudar a los adolescentes que experimentan un problema de salud mental o adicciones. Está diseñado principalmente para adultos que interacúan con adolescentes (de 12 a 18 años) de forma regular. Esta capacitación presenta desafíos y trastornos comunes de salud mental para los jóvenes. Sirve como herramienta para ayudar a evaluar si un adolescente está en peligro y cómo ayudar a los jóvenes tanto en situaciones de crisis como en situaciones de crisi como en situaciones que no son de crisis.

Having a supportive friend or partner, living in a safe neighborhood, and having access to nutritious food are all things that are shown to be positive influences. There is research linking each of these positive experiences to better health and increased resilience that may offset adverse experiences and promoted happier, more successful youth lives!

Let's Talk About It April 18, 2024: Mental Health First Aid - Marie Arroyo, LMFT Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist- Program Supervisor-Adult and Older Adult Services-Calexico Anxiety and Depression

The Mental Health First Aid program is an interactive training program that introduces participants, 18 years of age and over, to risk factors and warning signs of mental health problems. This training, is offered free of charge as a community service to the public by Imperial County Behavioral Health. It builds understanding of the impact of mental health concerns and outlines common treatments. Mental health awareness can support safer and healthier communities.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) provides people with a new set of skills to manage painful emotions and decrease conflict in relationships. This therapy focuses on four areas: mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness. DBT is an evidenced-based treatment program incorporating individual therapy, group therapy, and a therapist consultation team. Let's Talk About It May 2, 2024: Directing Change - Jackie Valadez, Teacher Southwest High School and Directing Change Film Contestant Students

Directing Change is a statewide video competition among high school students in which students participate by creating videos that talk about mental health. Submission categories include Suicide Prevention, Mental Heath Matters, and Through the Lens of Culture with the goal of reducing stigma that surrounds mental health. Southwest High School students created several submissions that will be shown at community wide premier on April 27th at Southwest High School. We talk to the teams that created these videos and they share their stories.
