Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) provides people with a new set of skills to manage painful emotions and decrease conflict in relationships. This therapy focuses on four areas: mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness. DBT is an evidenced-based treatment program incorporating individual therapy, group therapy, and a therapist consultation team. Directing Change is a California-wide contest to create behavioral health awareness videos, podcasts, and other art. Southwest High School students created several videos that cover different mental health topics and aim to reduce stigma. The videos are being presented in this Directing Change Event at Southwest High School. Join us as we speak to a various selection of presenters, community members, and interagency partners recorded live from this celebration about the value of decreasing mental health stigma in our community
