Let's Talk About It August 7, 2025: The HOPE Program -   Guest Speaker: Melissa Vasquez  Program Supervisor HOPE Program  Youth and Young Adults Services.

The HOPE Program is a youth centered initiative designed to support individuals ages 13 to 25 who have experienced a psychiatric emergency. By taking a holistic approach, HOPE complements traditional mental health services and focuses on treating the individual as a whole mind, body, and spirit with the goal of reducing the likelihood of future crises or psychiatric emergencies.  The program also aims to increase engagement in outpatient mental health services by providing consistent support and advocacy. HOPE staff work closely with participants to improve access to care, assist with re-engagement in services, and offer wellness-based activities that promote long-term stability and personal growth.

Curanderismo is a holistic healing tradition practiced across the Americas for centuries. Also known as Mexican Traditional Healing, traditional folk medicine, or medicina del campo, it blends Indigenous Mexican cultural practices with influences introduced through colonization. Each practitioner may draw from their own unique mix of religious, Indigenous, and tribal beliefs.
