September 16, 2021 - Project Empowerment: Student Wellness from Brawley Union High School - Abigail and Jocelyn Co-Leaders of  Project Empowerment

Project Empowerment was created in order to bring mental health awareness and support to students. This student developed and led initiative targets Brawley Union High School students. Starting with wellness surveys to gauge the  areas that students feel that they need help on and how they are doing, Project Empowerment plans to help students relieve the mental health issues that they report commonly experiencing.

The Youth Opioid Response Grant is assisting youth and young adults ages 12 to 24 with opioid use and/or stimulant use disorder by enhancing the availability of treatment services. The Substance Use Disorder services offered are responsive to youth and young adults, considering their family values, beliefs, norms, socio-economic, and cultural context, provided in a non-judgmental environment, which promotes independence and community integration for individuals with the support of family, peers, and the community
