December 8, 2022 - Future Farmers of America and Mental Health - Michelle Taylor-Future Farmers of America Teacher Brawley Union High School- Haleigh-FFA Student Advisor Addison-FFA Student Recorder.

In the Future Farmers of America (FFA), helps students learn about all aspects of agriculture, and about the wellbeing of animals. The student led organization prepares students in different areas such as animal science, plant science, woodworking, welding and pluming. The activities that students participate also help support student mental health. With this knowledge members get to grown plants or take care on animal which eventually get to show at the annual Imperial Valley Winter Fair.

It does this by creating inviting, physically and emotionally safe school and classroom spaces that support learning and engagement of all students. Catherine Carmona and Crystal Schonviesner are students of life who have successfully staked their recovery to embrace spirituality that is inclusive of many paths, but cohesive in its commitment of love and responsiveness to self, others, and the universe we inhabit. Their lived experience and their careful attention and kindness to share their gift with our community make this a can't miss show. When recovery and spirituality meet in common purpose, the results are amazing.

In our hectic lives, with all of our responsibilities and commitments, quiet reflection on gratitude can be easily misplaced. The winter season, full of holidays for some, offers us a chance to reconnect to the mental health benefit of realizing we have so much to be thankful for, followed up by demonstrating that gratitude to the world so that the spirit of gratitude is as infectious as a winter cold, but as healthy as a warm bowl of chicken soup for the soul.
